It's all about source.  When you control the source, you control the entire process. We have established the highest standards for quality quarrying in all of Mexico.  We start by surgically extracting the block from the quarry face using only diamond wire saws. Explosives are absolutely not tolerated in our process, as they can create fractures and fissures throughout the stone. Next, we grade each and every finished block based on quality of material.  Only the highest quality material is sent to our factories in Durango, DGO, Mexico.  This grading is checked independently by our quarry master, our quarry manager, and then again by our Director of Foreign Operations when block is received into the factory compound.  Poor quality block is sold to other factories in Mexico.  Our strict adherence to quality production starts with our block selection.

We own and operate our quarries. We have legal title to the properties and employ the quarrymen directly, not through subcontractor relationships. This company practice ensures the security of the source and allows us to appropriately manage the human resources that determine the quantity and quality of the raw material extracted. We have tremendous flexibility with regard to what is extracted and how much is extracted based entirely on our current and future needs.

In addition to our normal quarrying practices, we have accommodated special requests for raw material in the past. These requests have ranged from direct sales of Durango Stone™ block for large projects to sourcing new and exciting colors throughout Mexico.

A quarrier must also be a prospector.  We spend an enormous amount of time and money each year searching for the next Durango Stone™.  We have found a number of rare Mexican deposits that have provided our company exciting and rich new color ranges.  These rare and new deposits provide a unique and distinct look to any sized project and compliment all Durango Stone™; masterfully.
